DP World Tour Championship leader Lowry aims to "leave it all on the course" this weekend

Shane Lowry shares the halfway lead at the European Tour season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

The former Open champion signed for a bogey-free seven-under-par round of 65 today to move to 10-under-par into the weekend.

He's joined at the summit by Irish Open winner John Catlin and England's Sam Horsfield while Rory McIlroy is a shot back at nine-under.

First-round pacesetter McIlroy's chances of leading into the weekend were scuppered by a double-bogey on the last hole of his round.

“I think it was pretty similar," Lowry said after his round. "Obviously four shots better today than yesterday, but bogeyed the last yesterday.

"And I suppose when I chipped in on 14 was a huge boost today and holed a couple more putts. Felt like a fairly straightforward, 10-under first two rounds.“I feel like my game is in good shape and I feel like I know my way around this place and I know how to play here. I'm happy to be atop of the leaderboard, late tee time tomorrow and I'm looking forward to the weekend."

Lowry admits he's struggled for form since playing at his maiden Ryder Cup but he's focused on a good finish this weekend.

“Just keep doing what I'm doing. For me personally, it's two more days left and then end of a long year and a half, I suppose, long couple years.

"I'm looking forward to giving everything and leaving it on the course this weekend and hopefully I'm there near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon.”
