Jon Jones' comeback fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23rd will not go ahead due to a leg injury sustained by Cormier according to reports.
Cormier, who boasts a 17-1 record in the UFC, was scheduled to welcome Jones back to action in what would have been his second title defense since claiming the belt with a win over Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 but has been ruled out of the fight due to an, as yet, undisclosed leg injury.
The injury news comes in lieu of Cormier attending a wrestling event in California last week and was barely capable of walking on his left leg.

Jones has not fought in the UFC since January 2015 - a victory over Cormier - due to disciplinary reasons and was arrested last Tuesday for violating his probation having accumulated five traffic tickets but was released from jail just two days later. Jones' most recent discrepancy threw the fight at UFC 197 into doubt but the UFC later confirmed that he would remain on the card and the Cormier fight was not in doubt.
Cormier's leg injury comes as a blow to the event and we await a UFC announcement regarding fight changes. It remains to be seen whether the UFC will replace the bout with Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo previously set as the UFC 197 co-main event along with Jones and Cormier.
