Despite the height and weight differential, Conor McGregor held his own against Mountain from Game of Thrones in a video posted to YouTube yesterday.
The 6 foot 9, 28-stone Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson aka Gregor "Mountain" Clegane and McGregor sparred in the video that lasts almost three and a half minutes in a setting that appears to be Straight Blast Gym on the Naas Road in Dublin.
McGregor appears to be opting for a strike and retreat tactic but is helpless once the actor, strongman and former basketball player gets his arms around him. McGregor does land a few body blows to the torso of Björnsson that might hurt someone in the same weight class but the GoT actor seems unfazed. McGregor fights at 65kg and Mountain weighs in at three times that size.
McGregor is currently in training for a title unification fight against Jose Aldo in Las Vegas this coming December. Having faced off against this Mountain of a man, Jose Aldo will be a piece of cake.
