Fresh from posing with fans in Galway, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has just been revealed as the cover star of the new edition of Sports Illustrated. Under the headline, “Conor McGregor puts the fight in Fighting Irish... and the fear in the rest of the UFC,” the notorious Dublin brawler is only the third MMA star to make the cover of the famous magazine.
In the featured interview with McGregor, the Irishman speaks candidly about his path to the top of the MMA scene, despite his modest origins: “I just figured out that if I gave my all into this game... If I put everything into the fight business, then I would eventually run the fight business.”
“That’s where we are right now,” he adds.
