Carolina and Denver win to move one game away from SuperBowl 50

Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos both moved one win away from SuperBowl 50 after winning their Divisional playoff games last night.

The Panthers, who had a 15-1 record in the regular season, steam-rolled the Seattle Seahawks in the first half of their game in North Carolina to ensure victory. The Cam Newton-led side were 31-0 ahead at half time, and despite a spirited comeback from Seattle, they held out to win 31-24.

The Panthers will welcome the Arizona Cardinals to Charlotte next Sunday for the NFC Championship game, after Arizona defeated the Green Bay Packers in overtime on Saturday night.

In Colorado, Denver Broncos came from 10-6 down to defeat Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 23-16. Peyton Manning threw no touchdown passes, but completed a two-point conversion ensuring his career lasts another week. The 39-year-old is expected to retire at the end of the season.

Next week will see Peyton Manning face off against Tom Brady for the seventeenth time in their careers. It will be the fourth time they meet in the AFC Championship game, with Manning winning the head-to-head 2-1. The Broncos quarterback won the previous meeting in a playoff game between the two stars back in January 2014.

It is the first time since the 2004 season that the top-two seeds from both the AFC and NFC will meet in the Championship games.
