Formula One team McLaren have announced that Fernando Alonso will miss the season-opening race in Australia, where qualifying starts in 10 days' time.
The Spaniard suffered concussion in a recent crash during pre-season testing in Barcelona.
Reserve driver Kevin Magnussen will step in to replace the former world champion.
McLaren say Alonso is working towards being available for the Malaysian GP at the end of this month.
It will be tough not to be in Australia, but I understand the recommendations. A second impact in less than 21 days "NO" #countdownMalaysia
