The "human version of the dreaded K-9 cone" is how Rory McIlroy has described his recovery from Laser Eye surgery.
The four-time major winner posted a picture this morning on his Instragram account of his night time ritual in the immeadiate aftermath of the surgery. He must wear protection over his eyes for a least a week after the surgery to help the recovery process.
McIlroy failed to win any of golf's majors this year but was crowned the Race to Dubai winner on the European Tour after wins in the Dubai Desert Classic, the WGC Matchplay and the DP World Tour Championship in 2015.
Laser eye surgery is common among golf players, as they look for any edge possible. Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington and Zach Johnson are among the ever growing list of players who have gone under the knife to improve their vision.
