GAA confirms Allianz National League fixtures

All-Ireland hurling champions Limerick will square off with Wexford in their first game.

Football winners Tyrone will begin their Allianz League campaign at home to Monaghan.

The GAA has today confirmed the fixtures for next season's competitions.

This year's All-Ireland hurling final will be on the 17th of July, while the football decider is a week later.

It's the first year of the split season model, which will leave the remainder of the year free for club action.

Football sides will be back in league action at the end of January, while hurling begins the week after.

Mayo - who return to Division One of the football league - will play their first 'home' game at Markievicz Park in Sligo.

James Horan's side take on Donegal in their league opener.

MacHale Park is currently undergoing resurfacing works and is not able to cater for fixtures at present.

Elsewhere on the opening weekend of the Division One campaign, Kildare welcome Kerry to Newbridge.

Jack O'Connor left the Lilywhites last season before being installed as the Kingdom's new boss.

Armagh travel to Croke Park for a meeting with Dublin on the Saturday evening.

In hurling's top tier, the 1A meeting of Cork and Clare at Páirc Uí Chaoimh gets the campaign up and running on Saturday, February 5th.

Laois and Tipperary meet in 1B an hour later in Portlaoise.

On Sunday, February 6th, the weekend's other 1A game sees Offaly return to the top flight with an away clash with Galway.

In 1B, it's Kilkenny against Antrim and Dublin at home to Waterford.

The league finals in football are scheduled for the first weekend in April, while the hurling knockout phase begins a week earlier.
