There were county finals in both codes across the country at the weekend and the county championships draw to a close.
In Galway, reigning All Ireland champions Corofin won the Galway Football Championship. They defeated Mountbellew/Moylough, amid constant reports that manager Stephen Rochford is to become Mayo's new football manager.
In Clare, 39 year old Niall Gilligan rolled back to the years for Sixmilebridge. He scored 13 points as his side defeated Clonlara by nine points in Ennis.
In Cork, Glen Rovers ended a 26 year wait for county honours. They defeated Sarsfields by seven points to become Cork Hurling Champions.
Patrickswell won their third Limerick Hurling Championship yesterday. They defeated Na Piarsaigh in the Gaelic Grounds by a point, despite conceding four goals.
