Hot on the heels of Seamus Prendergast's decision to step down, another long-serving hurler has left the Waterford panel.
Shane Walsh has just announced his retirement from the inter-county team.
Walsh, part of the squad since 2003, says it was time to make up his mind, adding he was carrying a few injuries.
The Irish Independent reports that in addition to Prendergast and Walsh's retirements, six other players have been released, including Liam Lawlor, Richie Foley and Jamie Nagle.
