Tyrone first team to beat Dublin in this year's Allianz National Football league

For the first time in this year's Allianz National Football League campaign, Dublin have been beaten.

Tyrone have seen off the All-Ireland champions in Division One on a scoreline of 1-10 to 1-7 in terrible conditions in Omagh this evening.

There was much doubt about whether or not this game would go ahead with Storm Jorge battling through the country and leading to a number of games being rescheduled or postponed.

In just the second minute of the game Colm Basquel found the back of the net for the visitors and it looked as if a repeat of the hammering Mickey Harte's side suffered at the hands of Galway last weekend may be on the cards again.

It cannot be underestimated how poor conditions were for the game and there wasn't another score for another 11 minutes as players dealt with strong winds and heavy rain.

The game was quite fairly balanced once it settled and the sides went in level 1-2 to 0-5 at half-time.

Then it was late on in the second when the defining moment of the contest came.

With the pair level once again, man of the match Rory Brennan scored a cracker of a goal for the hosts in the 68th minute.

In the next passage of play, prolific Dublin forward Kevin McMenamin, who's always good for a goal, took a shot with 69 minutes n the clock but sent it wide.

The game finished in a three-point victory for Tyrone as they take a massive step towards staying up in Division One.
