Two Dublin ladies stars among Players' Player of the Year nominees

Dublin ladies stars Sinéad Goldrick and Siobhan McGrath are among the three nominees for the TG4 Players' Player of the Year for 2019.

Six-time All-Star winner Goldrick and three-time All-Star McGrath are up for the senior prize, alongside Galway's Louise Ward.

Mick Bohan's Dubs side beat Galway on a 2-3 to 0-4 scoreline on September 15th at Croke Park in the All-Ireland decider - a game watched by just over 56,000 at GAA Headquarters.

Goldrick and Ward are both in club provincial finals action this coming Sunday.

Dublin star Goldrick lines out with Foxrock-Cabinteely against Laois outfit Sarsfields as her club go for a fifth Leinster title in a row.

Galway's Ward will play with her club Kilkerrin-Clonberne as they take on Kilbride from Roscommon in the Connacht club decider.

Tipperary's All-Ireland final player of the match Orla O'Dwyer is up for Intermediate Players' Player of the Year, with teammate Aishling Moloney and Meath net-minder Monica McGuirk.

O'Dwyer was also nominated for this award back in 2017. Tipperary picked up their third intermediate title with a 2-16 to 1-14 win over Meath in the All-Ireland final last month.

In the junior section, Louth's All-Ireland-winning captain Kate Flood is up for a third Players' Player of the Year gong. She also won the award in both 2015 and 2018.

Former Dublin star Hannah Noonan, now playing with London, and Fermanagh forward Eimear Smyth are also nominated in the junior category.

Favourites Louth saw off Fermanagh in the junior decider at Croke Park by 3-13 to 2-6.

The winners will be revealed at the All-Star Awards Banquet which will be held at the Citywest Hotel on Saturday, November 16th.
