With Anthony Daly pondering his future as manager and the age profile of the players, there is a slight end of an era feel hovering above the Dublin hurlers.
Their Championship season came to an end yesterday after a defeat to Tipperary and after that match there was some talk of Dublin not having the "wristy" hurlers that their opponents possess.
We delved deeper into where the Dubs are at tonight and to do that, we were joined on the line by Daithi Regan and The Sunday Times' Denis Walsh.
"Tipp's stick work was better than Dublin's - on the ball, their ability to pick and go, look and find scores. With Dublin yesterday, it wasn't effortless. There was huge effort going into the basics of the game," said Daithi, who felt Dublin lacked quality up front.
"Until Dublin can get the progression of these players coming through - and there are some superb young hurlers in Dublin who over the last few years have chosen to go with football."
As for Wexford, Daithi thinks they will come back from the heavy defeat to Limerick and believes it will be a "mature learning exercise" for them.
The lads also looked ahead to the two semi-final ties as Limerick take on Kilkenny and Cork face Tipp.
Daithi believes Limerick are capable of winning the Liam McCarthy Cup and sees them as a "balanced" outfit and feels the hype will be less apparent than this time last year.
"My only worry for Limerick is a lack of burning pace against Cork," he added.
Walsh believes Tipp "have all the talent in the world".
