Tipperary corner forward Noel McGrath is to undergo surgery for testicular cancer later this week.
In a statement released this morning by the Tipperary County Board, they stated:
"Noel McGrath will undergo surgery for testicular cancer on Friday 17th April. The Tipperary senior hurling squad, senior hurling management, Tipperary County Board and all Tipperary supporters wish Noel well during this time and look forward to welcoming him back in the Tipperary colours in due course. "
The Loughmore-Castleiney star has played a starring role in Tipperary's journey to the Allianz League semi finals. He started Tipperary's quarter final win over Offaly, scoring one point in the game.
The 24 year old already has won All Ireland titles with Tipperary at Senior, Under 21 and Minor levels.
