'They're going to be a force' - Eoin Kelly on Galway

Galway advanced to the Leinster Hurling Championship semi finals after a commanding 5-19 to 1-18 win over Dublin after a replay in Tullamore last weekend.

Former All Ireland winners Eoin Kelly and Brian Hogan joined Joe on Off the Ball last night to look back on the weekend's hurling including the impressive performance by Anthony Cunningham's side.

The former Tipperary All Star was impressed by the intensity shown by the Westerners, "Anthony Cunningham has that bit of aggression in him. We didn't see it last season and we didn't see it the season before. It's back to the way Galway were playing in 2012 and they are going to be a force because they seem to have a squad."

"It has to be a mental thing. They are all class hurlers in their own right" said Hogan about why Galway are so inconsistent, after having poor championship performances in recent years. They go on now to face Laois in the provincial semi final on June 20th.

Speaking about Dublin, Hogan also said that Ger Cunningham's side perform at their best when they bring a high level of intensity to the game, but he does worry about the side after failing to close out games in the league and also against Galway in the Croke Park game.

The Under 21 game last week for Dublin against Kilkenny hampered their preparation for this weekend according to Kelly. He hopes to see the Dublin team freshened up for the qualifiers and mentioned how Cian Boland and Eamon Dillon have impressed in recent weeks.
