Waterford surprised many to win the Allianz League hurling final on Sunday afternoon, defeating Cork in the final by ten points in Thurles.
Journalist Christy O'Connor spoke to Joe and Colm on Off the Ball last night to discuss Waterford's successful season under Derek McGrath so far.
The Clare native said that Waterford "look very very like Clare in the early stages of 2013". That year Clare went on to win the All Ireland title.
O'Connor also compares the under age success Clare had recently compared to Waterford and states that the Suirsiders were regularly Clare's toughest opponents.
Crucially the side now has "x-factor talent" with Austin Gleeson among the new generation of Waterford heroes
Christy also looks back on Cork's performance at the weekend and how they prepare for their Munster Championship game with Waterford on June 7th.
