Dublin made an impressive start to life under Ger Cunningham in the Allianz Hurling League this weekend as they beat All-Ireland runners-up Tipperary.
Tommy Dunne, who departed the Dublin setup recently, joined us on the line to talk about the 12 point victory at Parnell Park.
"There's still an experimental side to it. It's only the first round of the league," said Dunne. "But I think Liam Rushe at full-forward was something that I know they were anxious to try. Eamonn Dillon at centre-forward is probably a name that people wouldn't be overly familiar with either over the last couple of years. He has the potential to be a super player."
Dunne believes Cunningham is trying to develop a more mobile playing unit and thinks that so much is set up for the team to achieve more at the elite level.
He also disagrees strongly with any assertions that skill levels of Dublin players are an issue.
