Galway 2-19 1-22 Tipperary
Joe Canning appeared to have secured the win for Michael Donoghue's side with a monstrous sideline cut but Tipperary refused to be subdued and John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer emerged with the leveller at the end of injury time.
It was an energetic encounter with both sides finding the net. Niall O'Meara goaled in the first half for Tipperary to take the early advantage but Galway launched a strong recovery punctuated by goals from Joe Canning and Iarla Tannian.
The result now means that Galway must win against Waterford next weekend to maintain their survival in Division 1A and here is how Twitter responded as the game unfolded. Tipperary will face Cork, who are already in the relegation final will play either Tipperary again, or Galway.
Brilliant end to the Galway and Tipperary game today in Pearse Stadium! End to end stuff, this is why we love hurling! #gaa

Tipp were in danger of losing a 4th successive tight game stretching back to AI semi (excluding Dublin win). Good game against Galway
