In case you missed it, the Camogie Association faced one of their biggest controversies during the week.
The whole affair blew up when the association announced that if Clare beat Derry last weekend, Dublin and Clare would be forced to draw lots to decide which side advanced to the quarter-finals. The sides couldn't be separated under the various points and scoring criteria outlined by the association.
The association said they had informed all boards of the rules.
The WGPA weren't happy. In a statement released before the Clare v Derry game, they said: “We are very keen to avoid the drawing of lots to determine who goes through, as it is to the detriment of our games and detracts from the efforts the players involved have put in so far this season."
Things went from bad to worse.
Clare beat Derry and with that, drew level with Dublin meaning that the coin toss would go ahead, despite objections from both sides. Both teams lodged appeals for a change in the decision.
The appeals were overturned and the Camogie Association announced that the coin toss would go ahead to decide who would go forward to the quarter-final clash with Wexford. This left the winning team with just three days to prepare for the game.
Then, all hell broke loose. Dublin and Clare both withdrew from the Championship, citing their disappointment for the players who would have seen a coin decide their fate.
Bríd MacNamara, PRO of Clare Camogie, spoke to Newstalk during the week about the incident:
Eventually, the Camogie Association were forced to row back on their decision and decided to give the go-ahead for a play off but with just one day between the two games.
More controversy ensued when the Association told Off the Ball that Wexford were willing to re-schedule the game to allow for a rest day but they didn't allow for that decision.
And then came the actual play off, a game which wasn't televised anywhere in the country, despite the fact that literally the entire country was talking about it.
Dublin came out on top, on a scoreline of 1-11 to 12 points.
