Daithi Regan believes Cork have the players but not the system to win major honours.
The former Offaly hurler and Denis Walsh of The Sunday Times joined us on Off The Ball to preview this Sunday's Allianz Hurling League decider between the Rebels and Waterord.
"Cork really suit Waterford if Waterford play very well. Cork are a team that suit them," he said.
"Cork, to me, over the last two or three years haven't shown that they've learned from the beatings they've taken, particularly in the All-Ireland against Clare. I think Cork have the players to win an All-Ireland final, [but] I haven't been convinced that Cork have found a specific system to win an All-Ireland final," he said.
Cork pulled a bit of a surprise by including Aidan Ryan at full-back for this weekend's match. He will make his first start of the campaign.
"To reach for Aidan Ryan for the league final, having not made an appearance in the league so far this year, certainly smacks not of panic but that they haven't found a solution [at full-back]," said Walsh.
Daithi also feels Waterford's style is not the "Donegal of hurling".
