If you happened to be on social media on Saturday evening, it would have been difficult to miss the ridicule aimed at Tyrone's Tiernan McCann after his laughable dive, which was quickly followed by a red card for his Monaghan opponent.

And the fallout from the tempestuous All-Ireland quarter-final clash continues to reverbate today with McCann facing a proposed eight-week ban from the GAA’s Central Competition Controls Committee.
While McCann's actions have been criticised, the length of the ban and the precedent has caused concern.
For example, ex-Galway captain Ray Silke says that "it is probably a little bit severe by virtue of the fact that we have seen cases of diving in the Championship and there hasn't been action taken".
But as ridiculous as McCann's dive was, do you agree with some of the arguments that an eight-week ban is too harsh in this instance?

Another one that has often been a talking points is an incident (you can see it 9 minutes in below) between Tyrone's Philip Jordan and Armagh's Diarmuid Marsden (who saw red as a result but had that sending off overturned once central council had reviewed the footage) from the 2003 All-Ireland final:
