O' Shea finally ends Munster drought as Tipperary beat Limerick

Tipperary has finally gotten the better of Limerick in the Munster championship and in style today as they ruthlessly despatched of the ‘Shannonsiders’ by 16 points at the Gaelic Grounds to earn Eamon O’ Shea’s first victory in Munster.

Tipperary advanced to a Munster final meeting with Waterford on 12 July as they overpowered TJ Ryan’s Limerick.

Tipperary had a commanding 2-12 to 0-12 at the break with full forward Seamus Callanan bagging a brace of goals.

Limerick however came back into contention in the second-half as Shane Dowling struck a penalty to the net and they cut the gap to the minimum, with 25 minutes left to play.

The Premier County weren’t phased and pushed on again and outscored Limerick by 2-11 to 0-2 in the final 25 minutes of the game. Jason Forde added their third goal and it was debutant Michael Breen to cap off a fine performance, coming off the bench, to score their fourth goal of the game.
