Rory Gallagher's era began in earnest yesterday afternoon with his Donegal side earning a three point win against Tyrone in Ballybofey.
The home side started the game strongly taking a four point lead in the first ten minutes before Tyrone clawed their way back into the game, courtesy of a Darren McCurry goal.
Donegal went into the break though with a two point lead, as Martin McElhinney cancelled out McCurry's goal.
The second half was a far tighter affair with only nine points being scored along with two red cards as Neil Gallagher and Sean Cavanagh were given their marching orders in the final ten minutes.
Donegal go on to face Armagh in the Ulster Championship quarter finals, while Tyrone go into the qualifiers.
After the game, Donegal manager Rory Gallagher spoke to Newstalk Sport's Oisin Langan in a windy Ballybofey.
