Six years ago, Galway were given a huge fright when they took on New York, needing a goal late on to secure a win against 13 men.
Justin O'Halloran was part of the selectors panel for New York on that day, and believes that there's more than a chance of something similar happening this time around too.
With Roscommon travelling Stateside this weekend, he warned that "the 2010 team - we are pretty much on a par with them."
Speaking to The Independent, he highlighted that the addition of Galway's Johnny Duane and hurler Johnny Glynn have been a huge boost, stating that "they are great athletes, great talkers and great team-mates and they know how to play football."
Adding that this weekend is the biggest day on the GAA calendar in New York, O'Halloran said that "sooner or later it will happen that we'll take a scalp, and hopefully it'll be this year."
