Meath stick with O'Dowd despite disappointing championship

Mick O'Dowd is set to continue in charge of the Meath footballers.

The Skryne clubman has been handed a fourth season in charge of the Royals, despite their disappointing championship defeats to Westmeath and Tyrone.

O'Dowd has been ratified as manager for another season after there was no vote required from the clubs at tonight's County Board meeting and his first task will be to recruit new selectors after Trevor Giles and Sean Kelly both left his back-room team this summer.

Martin Ennis has also been returned as senior hurling manager for 2016.
