Liam McHale is hoping Cavan can be more direct when they take on Monaghan in Sunday's Ulster championship clash..
The Mayoman, who is on the Cavan backroom team joined us on Off The Ball to preview the match against Monaghan, which we will broadcast live on Sunday.
"Cavan are a defensive-minded team as well and you need the numbers up in the attack zones to create those goal chances and we just don't have the numbers that we would like to have up there at times," he said.
"We scored two goals against Meath and I was delighted with that but we need to be a little bit more direct and we need the numbers up the field. But it's a catch 22 situation when you've got guys behind the ball, you haven't got the numbers up there."
McHale also expects Monaghan to be a tough nut to crack for his team.
"They're very hard to break down, very hard to play against. They're like Donegal - maybe not quite as good as Donegal in the last four or five years - but they're still that type of team that suck the life out of a team. They soak up the pressure then they break and counter-attack. It's going to be a difficult task," he said.
