Mayo fans are to pay tribute to former Minor player Darragh Doherty this Sunday in Croke Park with a moments applause.
Doherty died at the weekend after the car he was travelling in crashed outside Ballinrode on Sunday night. The Kilmaine foward was part of the Mayo side who won the All Ireland Minor Championship in 2013.
During Sunday's All Ireland semi final with Dublin, Mayo's fans plan to applaud Doherty's life during the 13th minute of the game. He wore the number 13 jersey as Mayo lifted their first Minor title in 2013 for almost 30 years.
Former Mayo midfielder and Off the Ball analyst David Brady came up with the idea for the tribute which was quickly endorsed last night by the Mayo County Board.
