Liam Dunne laments Wexford injuries as Dublin cruise to victory in the Leinster Championship

Dublin recorded a comprehensive victory against Wexford yesterday to earn a Leinster Championship date with Kilkenny in the coming weeks.

After shipping two first half goals, Liam Dunne's side were left with too much of a gap to curtail in front of poorly populated Croke Park of just over 13,000 people.

Wexford notched the two first points shortly after half-time and speaking after the game to Off The Ball's Dave McIntyre, Liam Dunne said that that was the moment when their injured players were needed to guide Wexford back into contention.

Lee Chin was among those who was ruled out, after suffering lateral medial damage in his knee, and Dunne said there was simply no chance that he could play last night.

"Medically, it was going to be a miracle for him to come back. He could have been chanced to play and could have gone for the first ball and be out for the rest of the year. If Lee Chin would have been fit to play any part, do you think I wouldn't have had him out there?"

"We were just unfortunate and player welfare comes into it. The GAA talk about it all the time. I would have loved to have had those guys today."

Meanwhile, Dublin boss Ger Cunningham said that while he was satisfied with his performance, he wants his side to establish some consistency.

"We want to be consistently competitive. It's not good enough to go out one day and have a poor performance followed by a mediocre one."
