Ladies Gaelic Football Association president Marie Hickey has extended her sympathies to GAA player Ciara Ryan's family, who tragically died on Thursday evening.
14-year-old Ciara had completed a training session when she began to complain about feeling unwell. She died from a suspected brain haemorrhage soon after which left the parish of Kilanerin deep in shock.
Maura Hickey states, "Our prayers and sympathies are with Ciara's family, who have suffered such a great and sudden loss,” Marie Hickey stated.
"This is a tragedy for the community in Gorey, her club mates in Kilanerin, the Gaelic games community in Wexford and in Ireland.
"On behalf of everyone involved in the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Ciara Ryan."
