Kerry captain Kieran Donaghy admits that he is facing a battle to hold onto his place in the team for this Sunday's All-Ireland final.
The talismanic full-forward has struggled for form this season and he was replaced at half-time of the semi-final win over Tyrone.
Kingdom manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice will name his starting side tomorrow night and Donaghy says that he has been treating every training session since the semi-final victory as a final as he attempts to secure his spot.
But he also noted some advantages to starting from the bench in the modern game.
"It's almost tougher when you start now because that's the way the game has gone and when the game opens up, it's nearly easier to come on. But I think the whole tag of a sub is definitely different to when I started out my career," said the Austin Stacks man.
