Ex-Waterford hurling star Ken McGrath says winning Munster titles does not always come with positive.
Speaking to Off The Ball ahead of his county's All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny this Sunday and looking back on his own experiences in the 2004 championship, he explained: "There's pros and cons of winning Munster at times because you win Munster and you have a six week break. And I suppose the hype went into overdrive down here after the last game against Cork. It was a fantastic game, an unbelievable game up in Thurles. It's hard to keep things right and you've six weeks of training and trying to get peaked for Kilkenny, who got beat in a semi-final off Wexford. So they came through the qualifiers and they were primed and ready for us at Croke Park."
Moving on from that 3-12 to 0-18 defeat, McGrath also previewed this weekend's game.
