James Skehill on the 2012 Galway v Kilkenny saga

Galway have built a reputation for themselves as a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde side over the years.

The 2012 team found themselves on the more positive end of the scale for a time in 2012, as they beat an all-conquering Kilkenny in the 2012 Leinster final.

That would not be the end of the confrontations with the Cats that year as they met again in the All Ireland final and replay, with Galway goalkeeper James Skehill a key figure having been injured in between both deciders, an issue that would dampen his impact on the replay.

With Galway facing Kilkenny this weekend in the Leinster Championship, Skehill joined us on the line tonight to look back on those marathon games and gave a real insight into the state of mind within the Galway camp as the tension brewed, the circumstances which led to him dislocating his shoulder and how it preyed on his mind ahead of the replayed game. He also discussed his own future.
