Kerry put in an incredible performance today to completely outclass Kildare by a final score of 7-16 to 0-10 in the All Ireland football quarter final, with most of the damage being done in a short period where the Kingdom scored several unanswered goals in quick succession.
However, the sheer gulf in class between the two teams was the big talking point after the game, as Jason Ryan spoke to Dave McInctyre of Off The Ball after his side's defeat, saying that it was "embarrassing stuff".
He added that while fans and players alike are likely to be feeling hurt after what happened today and what happened against Dublin, it's still worth taking the positives out of this, but his team needs to step up and force things to happen.
Speaking ahead of the game, Éamonn Fitzmaurice sated that there would be no complacency against Kildare, something which was evident in their performance on the pitch today. Speaking to Off The Ball afterwards, he highlighted that Kildare had a short turnaround time and had given it everything last week, and that needed to be taken into account.
He also spoke about the need not to get too far ahead of themselves, highlighting that the semi-final will be against either Tyrone, who have been very impressive so far in the qualifiers, or Monaghan, who beat them earlier this year in the league.
