'It'll be business from the off for Kilkenny'

Listen to the full interview via the podcast

Kilkenny get their All Ireland Championship underway when they take on Offaly in their Leinster opener this weekend.

And with a league triumph already under their belt, the Cats will hope to make up for a disappointing 2013 Championship.

To preview that game, we were joined by Jamesie O'Connor and he thinks Brian Cody's men will have the bit between their teeth already against a team which gave them a run for their money in their Leinster clash last year.

"I imagine it'll be business from the off and Offaly will need to be ready for it," said Jamesie, who described the Faithful County's league form as a disaster.

He also believes that Cody will persist with giving younger players a chance in order to have the legs and necessary pace blooded by the tail end of the Championship.

Jamesie also looked ahead to the replay between Cork and Waterford.

"If anything there's a bit more pressure on Cork. I couldn't believe the lack of intensity and lack of urgency, particularly in the first half," said Jamesie of Cork's efforts in the first game and thinks that they cannot be quite as bad as the were this time round - as long as they up the intensity.
