Mayo 1-11
Roscommon 1-10
Liam Irwin's goal deep into the second half proved decisive in swinging this year's Connacht U21 football final in Mayo's favour as they went on to break Roscommon's recent monopoly on the competition.
Roscommon led for the majority of the game, with Diarmuid Murtagh's goal, the opening score of the game, keeping Mayo at an arms length until the second half.
However, the Rossies failed to put away their provincial neighbours after playing the better football for much of the game and were duly punished when Irwin struck for his three pointer before corner-forward Michael Plunkett hit the winner deep into added time.
