Kerry romped to victory against Monaghan in Clones, recording a 1-17 to 1-09 victory over their hosts.
Colm Cooper was in inspired form, scoring six of his sides total as Kerry secured a fourth win on the trot, taking them one step closer to a coveted semi-final spot.
Roscommon loosened their grip on the top four as they fell to a four point (1-11 to 1-07) defeat against provincial rivals Mayo at a water-logged Dr. Hyde Park.
A slow start to both halves proved costly for the high flying Rossies, with Evan Regan's excellently taken second half goal proving decisive as Mayo eased their fear of relegation.
In the day's other division one game, Cork ran out comfortable winners against Down in Pairc Ui Ruinn, codemning the Mourne county to divison two football next season.
The Rebels slipped behind early on, but went on to score eight unanswered points to give them control of the game.
