Waterford could be a real proposition when championship time comes along according to Jamesie O'Connor.
Looking back on the weekend Allianz National Hurling League games on Off The Ball, he said he was impressed by The Deise start to the campaign.
"I would be more confident about Waterford's chances come championship from what I've seen so far because it's been a positive start for them," said Jamesie of a Waterford side who drew with All-Ireland semi-finalists Limerick last week, before beating Laois 3-21 to 0-12 on Saturday.
Jamesie also feels the fresh approach under new manager Ger Cunningham has helped give Dublin a spring in their step as they followed up last weekend's win over Tipperary with victory against All-Ireland champions Kilkenny at Nowlan Park.
The Sunday Times' Denis Walsh also joined us on the line to share his perspective of a Cork side who enjoyed a 10-point win over Clare.
"At this time of year, it's very hard for Clare to play the game they want to play because they've such a premium on accuracy and execution. It only needs a few first touch failures for that to look clumsy and for ball to be turned over," said Walsh, adding that "we'll see a different Clare in a few months' time."
