Former Mayo footballer David Brady joined Joe on Colm and Joe on Off the Ball last night to look back at the weekends games including Mayo's win over Galway.
Colm was unimpressed by the way, Kevin Walsh's men lined out claiming Michael Lundy was played out of position. The Corofin corner forward failed to score in the game in Salthill.
"Galway are completely not getting enough out of Lundy. He is a sensational player. Sticking him out on the wing, in the modern game, when he does not have the workrate for that. He is a brilliant, brilliant forward.
Galway's shape was all wrong. (Damien) Comer is a big burly full forawrd. You can get more out of him. Play Lundy in front of him, making the initial breaks. You always have an out ball is Lundy is there. He will run right and left.
Play a little one on the half forward line, two in the full forward line and let other lads defend.
Lundy is tailor made. Don't track back. Just hold the centre forward position, break left and right, and play in Comer when you do that. That shape would really suit this Galway team.
Playing him out there was just silly."
Galway now go into Round 2B of the qualifiers.
