The sun was out and the match programmes were hoisted to fend off its rays in both O'Connor and Brewster Park as Offaly faced Longford and Fermanagh took on Antrim in the first rounds of the Leinster and Ulster Fooball Championships respectively.
Offaly recorded their first win in Leinster since 2007 thanks to goals from Graham Guilfoyle and Niall Smith along with four points apiece from Bernard Allen and Niall McNamee as the game finished 2-21 to 2-13.
Meanwhile Fermanagh resisted a late Antrim rally to seal victory by 1-12 to 0-9. Tomas Corrigan was Fermanagh's talisman as he racked up nine points and Sean Quigley's goal late on killed off any notions Antrim had of a comeback.
