Teams are still getting used to the elements in January as they try and prepare for what is to come in the League and Championship.
Yesterday was no exception as Kilkenny travelled to Birr to face Offaly in the Walsh Cup. The home side won the game by six points, winning 3-9 to 1-9 to advance to the semi-finals.
While neither team will remember the game in six months time, it is worth seeing the conditions the players put themselves through in pre-season competitions to try and make the intercounty squad later in the year.
