Laois booked their place in the second round of the Leinster Championsip after battling past a dogged Wicklow side in Portlaoise tonight.
The O'Moore county hit three goals to win on a scoreline of 3-16 to 0-18 points as Wicklow's lack of a free kick specialist cost them dearly.
Laois took a five point advantage in with them at the break with Gary Walsh's early three pointer putting them in the driving seat.
They failed to shake off Wicklow who managed to keep in touch with them however, but Ruairi O'Connor and Donie Kingston netted in the second half to secure safe passage through to the next round.
They will meet Dublin next.
Louth motored past Carlow in the day's other game, winning on a scoreline of 2-24 to 3-11, also at O'Moore Park this evening.
Ryan Burns was the star player for the Wee county as he tallied 1-07 of his sides total, with Anthony Williams scoring the other goal for Louth.
Carlow gave a good account of themselves but ultimately fell short, with their goals coming from Paul Broderick, Darragh O’Brien and Chris Blake.
Louth will face Meath in the next round.
