A GAA club situated in the Gaeltacht in Galway have complained to their County Board after a referee told their players to speak in English during a game last weekend.

The Galway County Board confirmed to Raidio na Gaeltachta on Tuesday that they had received a complaint from the club about the referee's alleged behaviour.
According to the Irish Times, the referee "was unhappy with both players on the field, and officials coaching from the sideline, speaking in Irish". They added that the matter should be resolved in the next fortnight.
The GAA claim that one of their main aims is to "actively support the Irish language and Irish culture".
In a statement from the club, they confirmed a complaint was made to the Galway County Board, but will not be making any further comment until the investigation is completed.
