Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice is satisfied with how his team is developing despite some "sloppy" moments in their All Ireland quarter final win over Galway.
Kerry prevailed 1-18 to 0-13 at Croke Park in the first match of a quarter final double header with the winner of the ensuing Mayo vs Roscommon game the next challenge for his team.
Speaking to Off The Ball's John Duggan, Fitzmaurice is hopeful that the Kingdom have made a step forward from last year's showing.
"I hope we've been improved. You've to improve year on year because if you don't, you'll regress. There's no such thing as standing still so I think we are further down the line. I think the team is evolving the whole time and I think we're in a good place going into the All Ireland semi final," he said.

But he did feel there are issues to iron out in places after the Galway clash, which was there first match since the Munster final.
"We're happy out, we're after winning the game, we're in an All Ireland semi final in three weeks time and won by eight points. We played well in patches, at other stages of the game we were sloppy which was probably down to the pressure Galway put us under as well. There's plenty to take from the game," he said, before touching further on the issue of sloppiness.
"Usually when you're a bit sloppy and a bit off, it's down to mentality. You're not quite at the pitch you need to be when you come to Croke Park. So like I said, that's something that we definitely have to work on."
