Éamonn Fitzmaurice has chosen to shake up his preparation ahead of this summer's Championship campaign by releasing six players, including former captain Kieran O'Leary, from the county's panel.
Kerry face either Clare or Limerick in the Munster SFC semi-final on June 12 in Killarney and Fitzmaurice, along with his selectors, have opted to blood some new talent from the U21 ranks.
Among the casualties are Jack Sherwood, Glenbeigh-Glencar clubman, Pa Kilkenny, Paul O’Sullivan of Valentia and Aidan Walsh of St Mary's. Alongside O'Leary departing the squad, Tommy Walsh has also made himself unavailable for selection.
The squad will head to Portugal for five days at the end of the month for warm-weather camp, while management are still sweating over the fitness of Anthony Maher (hip) and James O'Donoghue (shoulder).
Jason Foley, Mark O'Connor and Killian Spillane are among those who are likely to be involved from U21 level.
