David Treacy chipped in with 12 points, while Eamonn Dillon got the only goal for the capital.
David Burke found the net for 2015 All-Ireland runners-up Galway.
Wexford, meanwhile had a more straightforward victory over Offaly, emerging 0-14 to 0-6 winners.
