Dublin Advance At The Expense Of Spirited Fermanagh

Dublin had a far from comfortable 2-23 to 2-15 victory over Fermanagh in Croke Park this evening. Jim Gavin’s side were always on top of their Northern counterparts but the Farney men did not lie down and caused numerous problems for the Leinster champions.

Gavin’s Dublin started off strong and exploded out of the blocks opening up a 1-04 to 0-1 lead with Bernard Brogan with the goal. Fermanagh didn’t lie down though and persisted with an attacking brand of Football but still trailed 1-13 to 0-6 at half time.

It was the Second where things really came alive and the Fermanagh crowd got behind their team. With Fermanagh trailing by 13 points Fermanagh got a goal andf the game really came to life. A high ball caught by Cluxton ended up in the back of the net, along with Cluxton, after the opportunistic Sean Quigley forced the keeper behind his own line.
