“Donegal changed the face of Gaelic football...” - The Saturday Panel on Off the Ball

On this week’s panel, the lads discuss the emergence of footballing strongholds, a lacklustre championship and the evolution of gaelic football.

Darragh O‘Sé was impressed with the industry of Tyrone and complimented the structure of the team.

“There’s an unbelievable freshness about them. Everyone understands their role and they look very settled."

Tyrone take on Sligo in Croke Park this afternoon and you can hear live and exclusive national radio coverage of that game on Off The Ball from 3.30pm with build up from James Horan and Colm Parkinson.

The emergence of Donegal football also came up and there was a general consensus that Jim McGuinness had changed the way gaelic football was played when it came to defensive systems and the infamous blanket defence.

"They changed the face of gaelic football to a certain degree with the way they played and their tactics.

“All of a sudden any manager now has to be a tactician if they are to compete at the top level”
