At the end of the day, the game against Cork, Waterford came out and won it and well deserved it.
Certainly after the first 10-15 minutes, it was Waterford's game. Whoever they come up against next, they will do their homework, do their tactics and probably play a similar type of game.
Talent does not necessarily mean you can win great ball and put it over from the sideline. Talent also means you can play a team sport. If you are talented enough as an individual and in a team, you can create a great team. That's what Waterford has at the moment and they are certainly playing very well.
Obviously, you cannot call anyone a great team until they have massive success behind them but at the moment they are going the right way.
The question I would ask, and we are talking Jimmy Barry Murphy taking criticism, are we giving Cork hurling too much credit?
You cannot do it unless you actually have the players to be able to do it. Cork were not able to change. Waterford had five or six goal chances and had the possibility of a few more. Cork had two - one was a half-hit shot in the first half and then the penalty.
At the top level of sport, you need to be creating four or five goal chances and taking two or three. It's as simple as that. Three points are worth one on any occasion and if you have not got the players who are going to be able to take on defences and go for goal, you are in trouble because you cannot depend on scoring 25, 26 or 26 points every day you go out.
As for Waterford's Maurice Shanahan, he has a little bit of going to catch up on Dan, but certainly he can be very proud.
I thought at the start of the game, I would not have seen him as a natural free-taker and then he comes out with a goal and nine points. I think he might have missed one and that was all throughout the game. So Maurice can be very proud.
