AUDIO: Cuthbert keen to park dual star losses and drive on

Cork football boss Brian Cuthbert insists losing Aidan Walsh and Damien Cahalane to the hurlers is “water under the bridge” ahead of the 2015 season.

Fellow dual star Eoin Cadogan has opted to go with the Rebel footballers this year and Cuthbert insists no pressure was put on any of the three by him nor hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy.

“I’d love if all three of them were going to play football only, it would have been great,” Cuthbert told Cork's 96FM and C103 Gaelic games correspondent Finbarr McCarthy.

“I think the players themselves decided at the end of last year that they had to play one game only.

“Jimmy and I just left it up to them and said just come back to us when your mind is made up,” added Cuthbert, whose side recorded a resounding 7-20 to 0-4 win over Mary Immaculate College in the McGrath Cup at the weekend.

“It’s water under the bridge, 2015 has started and we’re driving on with that.”

The Bishopstown clubman also discussed changes to his management team, and previewed a “very difficult” Allianz National Hurling League campaign ahead.
