Clare county board have pumped over €150,000 into their inter-county set-ups since the turn of the year, it was revealed at a recent county board meeting.
Board treasurer Bernard Keane revealed the statistic at the county boards most recent gathering, disclosing that in excess of €153,000 has been spent on the county's hurling and footballing teams.
Keane told club delegates: “€67,538.74 was spent on the hurling, with €87,705.53 spent on the football. In addition, €18,645.10 has been spent on Cusack Park and Caherlohan and that’s nothing to with the projects at those venues.
"It’s important that we all work together to stay on top of this.”
The investment seems to be paying dividends already, with both the Clare footballers and hurlers achieving promotion from their respective divisions, but a pretty penny nonetheless.
